Am Husumer Strand wird eine Wasserleiche angespült. Kommissarin Ria Larsen und ihr Kollege Michael Brandt stellen fest, dass der Mann bereits seit Wochen tot ist. Um herauszufinden, wo das Opfer in die Strömung gestürzt sein könnte, bittet Ria die Meeresbiologin Dr. Marina Johansson um ihre Expertise. Als herauskommt, dass diese den Toten kannte, gerät die Wissenschaftlerin selbst ins Visier der Ermittler.
