1996 wurde die Eric-Clapton-Doku "Nothing but the Blues" zurückgezogen. Jetzt wurde der Film restauriert. Die musikalische Entwicklung von Eric Clapton und dessen große Liebe zum Blues werden nachgezeichnet. Ebenso haben darin Livekonzerte Platz, bei denen Clapton bekannte Bluesstandards interpretiert. Historische Aufnahmen von Bluesmusikern aus verschiedenen Epochen runden den Film ab.
