Das Haus zum Kirschgarten wurde 1775–1780 als Wohn- und Geschäftshaus für den Basler Seidenbandfabrikanten Johann Rudolf Burckhardt erbaut. Seit dem Umbau als Wohnmuseum 1951 zeigen sich hier Interieurs der Basler Bürgerhäuser in ihrer stillen Eleganz.
