Here comes the powerfully swinging, modern jazz with a throwback to the 50s and 60s. Own compositions à la Jazz Messengers with Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw and others make up a good part of this band's repertoire. With his jazz quintet, trumpeter Bodo Maier pursues the intensively swinging vibe that he has known from Louis Armstrong & His All Stars since he was a child, and with his compositions and playing style he skilfully bridges the gap to the present. In addition to the extrovert moments, the melancholic world of ballads also finds its place on the set list.
The music is also enriched by the different nationalities of the musicians that Bodo Maier got to know in the course of his work. The band's last EP was recorded in London, with musicians from England, Germany, Italy, China, Australia and Switzerland.
The swinging groove of jazz takes place in many places around the world and blends with local cultures. We can be very curious how the melting pot of these musicians sounds.
