Geometric abstraction in the picture space Bodensee in Bregenz
Parallel layered line, stripe and surface formations as well as the restriction to black, white and blue are essential features of the current works that Christian Eder is presenting in the Bildraum Bodensee. Using his geometric vocabulary and the material he has chosen, he examines the interaction of line, surface and form. In the form of an image, this repeatedly appears before the eye as a serially composed, mutually overlapping and interlocking abstract system of lines and stripes. In this way, Christian Eder composes images and three-dimensional objects that interact with space and light beyond the boundaries of the image. The extensive absence of color allows the viewer to deal more with the structure, image order and boundaries of the respective work: painting and abstraction as a visual experimental arrangement and a challenge for individual vision. Duration of the exhibition: April 30 - June 15, 2024 Finissage & guided tour with the artist: Saturday, June 15, 11 a.m. Fig.: Christian Eder, studio view © Bildrecht, Vienna 2024
