The award-winning Luxembourgish trumpeter Daniel Migliosi is one of the most promising talents on the contemporary European jazz scene. With his quartet, he explores new musical frontiers – drawing inspiration from his role models and blending modern influences with an unmistakable personal touch. His runs are clearly articulated, at times virtuosic, yet never superficial; his sound is innovative, expressive and both fresh and deeply rooted in tradition. Simon Compté provides the accomplished counterpart and sensitively leads the themes in unison with Migliosi. The rhythm section provides a driving energy and lays the springy foundation for these wonderful evenings.
