From April 6 to May 10, 2024, Marie Gailland exhibits at the OBLIQUE gallery. “The Mystery… Painting the invisible world. Invisible, but so present and so alive. Go and find the light and bring it down. Translate a reality deeper than that of appearances. Make the abstraction figurative. Go beyond the world of opposites. The mutual game, the marriage of two forces. The inner need to go beyond the framework of sensations to touch the breath, the spiritual emotion, the transcendent. »Marie Gailland was born in 1954 in Martigny and attended the Ecole cantonale des Beaux-Arts de Sion (currently EDHEA), then the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris with courses at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and Jean Calvin in the seventies. Several study trips followed to the United States, Canada, India... She has been a member of Visarte since 1986 and received the Encouragement Prize from the State of Valais (1991) and the Visarte scholarship for a stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (1993-1994), the Prix de la Ville de Martigny (1998).
