Lisa de la Salle

Friday, 14. June 2024

Tonhalle, St. Gallen

  • Sounds

The French pianist Lise de la Salle dedicates her solo recital to her adopted hometown of Paris. “I love wandering through times and styles in my concerts,” she says of the program she put together for her performance in St. Gallen. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who experienced Paris during the Enlightenment, begins. With Gabriel Fauré and Maurice Ravel, two important figures in French music of the 20th century are represented. And of course the icon of French Romanticism should not be missing: Frédéric Chopin's works, with their sparkling timbres and their pronounced sophistication, are the epitome of Romantic piano music.
