Island (2011, D, Martin Umbach, Tobias Mennle)
17 million years ago, massive eruptions formed the island in the North Atlantic with its rugged mountains, numerous waterfalls and around 200 volcanoes. There are only a few land mammals. The first arctic foxes came on ice floes 10,000 years ago, and it was only 1,000 years ago that the famous Icelandic horses arrived on the island. The original horse breed is now strictly protected.
