Life in the forest comes with its own unique opportunities and risks for the animal inhabitants. Foragers find plenty of food in treetops and on the forest floor. The Southeast Asian raccoon bear is after bird eggs. Helmeted hornbills and golden langurs eat figs and other fruits, the tiger python hunts animals of all kinds. But many forests are shrinking, and their inhabitants - such as the Indian bearded monkeys - are threatened with extinction.
