The singer/songwriter has been on stage for many years, mostly accompanied by the band BORDER AFFAIR.

Now he is doing without the band, returning "Back to the Roots" with just guitar, harp and voice and his touching song stories.

Andy Trinkler impresses with good, realistic lyrics and powerful compositions, roots rock, folk and Americana in one, unpretentious and real, without copying what has been heard a thousand times.

And it takes him "...23 years to write this song and 3 minutes to sing it" (quote about the song "No Big Story").

With the typical storytelling, in which the background stories are not neglected, these songs take the listener on a musical journey; dynamic and thoughtful at the same time, but also with a healthy dose of humor and self-irony.

Born and raised in Bern, he began writing songs himself in the early 1980s and played in various bands, first as a bassist, later as a guitarist and singer.

He was inspired by greats such as James McMurtry, Townes VanZandt and Jackson Browne, but his songs always remain independent and grounded.

Because over 40 years and countless concerts at home and abroad are the real whetstone in the life of a songwriter - and you can feel it!
