The most important voice in Africa.
It used to be Miriam Makeba, today it's Angélique Kidjo: Africa's most important voice. It is therefore not surprising that the 5-time Grammy winner and UNICEF ambassador from Benin was also awarded the "Nobel Prize for Music" in 2023, the renowned Polar Music Prize. In 2024 she is celebrating her 40th stage anniversary with her current project and album of the same name «Mother Nature», on which she plays with many new and young African artists such as Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi and Ghetto Boy. Angélique Kidjo always has her finger on the pulse: Zouk and Makossa, Afro-Funk and Latin American rhythms are just as important to the "Queen of Afro-Funk" as American black music and Afrobeat. As Peter Gabriel once said about Angélique Kidjo: "Her spirit is invincible and she brings everything she touches to life." On Saturday, May 4th, 2024 live at the Volkshaus Zürich.
