The change from art to speculation and investment object is taking place at Art Basel. Agents buy art that is often made by third parties on behalf of the artists. Many of these objects end up unseen in archives. In 2023, according to the Art Basel and UBS report, global sales of art rose by 3% year-on-year to an estimated 67.8 billion US dollars. We're taking a piece of that. If we get rich, we'll invite you and many artists from the canton of Bern to an aperitif riche on the occasion of the finissage.

To remain politically correct: Russian hanging* means a particularly close row of paintings, often up to the ceiling. It is also known as the Petersburg hanging. This name goes back to the lavishly hung walls of the St. Petersburg Hermitage with 350 rooms, 60,000 exhibits and three million objects in the archive. Welcome to the 48m2 Bern Cultural Museum.
