Art unites

The Schaffhausen Art Association is one of the oldest art associations in Switzerland. It was founded in 1848 by members of Schaffhausen's educated middle class and local artists "to raise and revitalize the appreciation of art". To mark its 175th anniversary, the Museum of All Saints is dedicating a large exhibition to the art association. With around 200 exhibits - including prints, sculptures, paintings, photographs and installation works - the exhibition tells the story of the art association's development from a small group of illustrious art connoisseurs to one of the most important players in contemporary art in the region. Selected anecdotes and stories provide atmospheric insights into the club's activities from its beginnings to today and reflect on special moments. The accompanying program was designed together with the art association. It focuses on experience and exchange as the essence of club life, because: Art unites!
