The series revolves around everyday life in the fictional Upper Bavarian village of Lansing. The focus is on the Brunner family of innkeepers, the Kirchleitner brewery family and the Preissinger family. In the series, a weakened form of the Bavarian dialect is spoken in order to achieve better comprehensibility outside of Bavaria. However, this dialect is perceived by some as kitschy.
