People talk about the past
The museum invites people from St. Gallen and the surrounding area to talk about their childhood and youth. In this film room, the first twelve people who took part have their say. They grew up in different neighborhoods and habitats, and have very different roots. The film interviews create a digital memory archive that provides valuable insights into days gone by and will be a lasting memory. One marvels, compares, is concerned and reflects on how the world was and how it is experienced today. For 2024, the museum is planning an exhibition on the subject of childhood. The interviews continue. This film project is a new format that invites cultural participation. It is created in collaboration with the cultural mediator and historian Judith Thoma and curator Monika Maehr. As a transformation project, it is supported by the Office of Culture as part of the federal government’s Covid support measures.
