In 1950, the bank manager Otto Griesser and Martha Bonart, the wife of the village notary, were found naked and dead in the bank manager's bed in Hinterschattigen in the Emmental valley. Both had obviously been shot. Village policeman Schindler called in investigator Stucki from Bern, who solved the case on the spot. It soon became clear that several people had a motive and a way to commit the crime. From the cuckolded husband Bonart to the bank manager's Aunt Elise. From the cheese-making couple Gammeter to the mayor Siebenthal and the landlady Moser in Kreuz. They all had things to hide. The mystery only slowly became clear and the solution was a surprise even for the perpetrators.
