Fa­shion ma­kes mo­ney - The glo­bal fa­shion in­dus­try, my ward­ro­be and me

Fashion consumption is increasing and increasing. Fast fashion reigns online and offline. How is ever faster and cheaper production possible? Who wins, who loses? And what's in my closet? The exhibition moves along the value chain from cotton cultivation, clothing and marketing to disposal or further processing. Historical windows reflect the present with the textile industry since the 19th century. The exhibition is part of the cooperation project “Facets of Wealth”. In 2024, six museums and an art festival will present various exhibitions and events on the topic of “wealth”. In addition to the Neuthal Museum, the Bubikon Knight's House, the Wetzikon Museum, the Dürnten Cultural Center, the Sewing Machine Museum, the Meilen Local Museum and the Festival art venue are also included. The dialogic tour of the special exhibition encourages people to think together about the past, present and future of clothing consumption. Who pays the real price for fast fashion and how do you find new ways to use clothes sustainably? The exhibition presents the current facts about the fast fashion industry. The tour is enriched by the experiences and stories of our volunteers, who have experienced the global developments in the fashion industry over the last 60 years in their professional lives.
