He is the first artist to exhibit at the Thun Art Museum and the Thun Panorama. It shows how the Swiss artist's work has changed over the decades.
Giacomo Santiago Rogado is a Swiss artist with Italian-Spanish roots who combines various traditions of the painting medium in his work and uses new tools, techniques and materials to intensively explore the possibilities, limits and conditions of contemporary painting. In his almost 20 years of artistic activity as a painter, Rogado has created an extensive body of work that has never been exhibited in an overview before. He is also the first artist to exhibit at both locations, the Thunerhof and the Thun Panorama. On a total area of over 1000 m2, Rogado will respond directly to the specific challenges of the exhibition locations. In the Thun Panorama, the artist operates - like its creator Marquard Wocher - primarily in his representational works, with illusionistic effects and a depiction reminiscent of photography. The two-dimensional works are complemented by monumental spatial installations that allow immersion in the image space and thereby create a direct connection to the historical panorama.
