God is a DJ is a happening of high and pop culture. The scenography by the Zurich painter Sophie Stalder and the Bernese conceptual artist Christoph Balmer is loud and wild. It is not the pictures and objects that are the focus of the exhibition, but the audience that makes God is a DJ an event, because art is communication and God the DJ hovers above us all.
Sounds are the doping of her art. Immerse yourself in Sophie's world, an exuberant workshop of colors, desire, and experimentation. The art of the print series "Lyrics" by Christoph Balmer lies in the reduction. With text fragments of well-known songs, she triggers soundtracks and memories in the minds of the viewer.
DJ Electric will provide flower power at the vernissage. On May 16, ex-Radio DRS cultural editor Eric Facon will be playing. DJ Daisy will be in the House on May 23. On May 30. Bring your 7” records to Housi Rufer’s Singles Night and become the goddess and god of the dance floor.
