In­tel­li­gence, what ex­act­ly is it?

A fun, philosophical research with Anthea Oestreicher (Interaction Design ZHDK) and Roland Fischer (Turing Agency) around the question of where (in nature, in neural networks) intelligence appears. What intelligence is and what it could be. And whether we shouldn't be talking about it in the plural by now. No philosophical expertise necessary! We all probably have an idea of what we consider intelligent (and perhaps also roughly why). It will be interesting to see whether we can reconcile these ideas.

Anthea Oestreicher is an interdisciplinary designer and artistic researcher. She sees design as exploration and physical storytelling in order to explore the interrelationships between systems and living beings. In doing so, she combines the fields of design, cultural studies and biology, always keeping an eye on the relationships between people and "more-than-humans", organic and inorganic beings.
