To love and be loved - even in today's economic research, it is more important than gross domestic product. In the Middle Ages, this universal force, Love, was equated with nature. God. Today, it is often simply the awareness of our responsibility. towards the world that calls us to to act.
“O Amor Deus” is an invitation to let yourself be carried away by new sounds, some very old, others completely new. new facts, driven by the search for the right path. A cappella songs, moving and transparent, alternate with virtuoso flute solos. beak. Fluid melodies bring medieval poetry to life, in a unique way. both sensual and highly religious. A moment of meditative delight, supported by a luminous creation.

O Amor Deus, an hour-long concert program from the association Ars vivendi - Life as Art, combines Swiss music from the Middle Ages with contemporary art. a contemporary composition by Ulrike Mayer-Spohn commissioned for the occasion. Its production is entrusted to The RESONEZ Ensemble specializes in in medieval music. The premiere will take place on September 29, 2023 at Grand-Saconnex (GE). A tour of 10 concert dates will follow in 2023-2024 in the cantons of Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Jura, Vaud, Valais, Neuchâtel and Geneva.

The objective of this project is to make cultural heritage resonate in the churches and historic buildings of the different regions of Switzerland, while creating a link with our times. Medieval architecture is present throughout the city. at any time and visible to everyone. On the other hand, the sound evidence of this period still remains largely unknown and is only made perceptible at a later date. through historically informed interpretation during a concert. In the field of music, the close links with the great cultural centers of the world of the time, in particular Paris and its Notre-Dame cathedral, gave rise to great success. place in Switzerland at an abundant production of manuscripts.

The four musicians of Ensemble RESONEZ transcribe these original manuscripts themselves and know how to make them accessible to everyone. the music of previous centuries can be heard by today's ears. They combine sound exploration and creativity. &àgrave; a spirit of rigorous research and thus breathe new life into medieval music.

A lighting creation specially designed for the program contributes to make the auditory experience a moment of renewal and meditation.
The commissioned work ends the concert program. The extremely sensitive sound universe of Swiss composer Ulrike Mayer-Spohn addresses notions such as shadow, edges and fragments, and refers to historically based and almost forgotten orders of intervals.
