The group Slixs is very successful internationally. In Konstanz they sing their own musical arrangements of Bach's instrumental works under the title "Quer Bach".
After SLIXS were once commissioned to arrange instrumental music by J. S. Bach for the German film “Mensch Kotschie” and to perform it purely vocally, the sextet released the film’s soundtrack in January 2014 under the title “Quer Bach”. Because the specialist press, organizers and audience were enthusiastic about the uninhibited and yet respectful implementation, SLIXS, who are usually more at home in jazz, decided on a program that brings selected instrumental works by Bach, their own musical settings of Shakespeare sonnets and other specially composed or self-arranged pieces to life in a way that is as profound as it is entertaining.
SLIXS are turning the listening habits of the a cappella genre on their head. With their powerful and daring mix of pop, jazz and classical music, the 6 vocal artists are inspiring audiences at concerts across Europe and Asia. Gabriel Crouch from the King’s Singers called SLIXS “better than any group (he’s) ever heard!” And before Bobby McFerrin took them on a joint tour of Europe, he praised them: “I’ve never heard these tunes so funky.”
