Belgian writer naturalized American in 1947, Marguerite Yourcenar, born Marguerite Cleenewerck de Crayencour, excels in various literary fields. She stands out as a novelist, short story writer, autobiographer, poet, translator, essayist and literary critic. Her major influence in 20th century literature is underlined by her election to the Académie Française in 1980, a first for a woman.
The Literary Evening in Harmony in May celebrates part of his literary work, enhanced with musical interludes.
