Re­pair Re­vo­lu­ti­on!

Things break all the time in our everyday lives. Instead of repairing them, we often buy a replacement right away. The consequences are growing mountains of rubbish and an increasing scarcity of resources with global repercussions. How well an object can be repaired is already decided during the design process. In mechanical engineering, for example, maintenance and spare parts are an integral part of design practice, while in product design and architecture they are the exception. There is another way! Repairing is no longer an emergency solution, but a serious cultural, social and economic practice that offers an alternative to the throwaway society.
