The shy Seymour, an employee in a flower shop on New York's run-down Skid Row, is secretly in love with his colleague Audrey. However, she chose a sadistic dentist and so Seymour devotes his passion to breeding new types of plants.

But the carnivorous plant that he buys from an ominous gentleman and names “Audrey II” is anything but normal. Although she literally helps Mr. Mushnik's dilapidated flower shop to flourish and Seymour to gain more self-confidence, her appetite grows as she grows. And suddenly Audrey's friend, the dentist, disappears...

The basis for the musical about the insatiable talking plant that loves to eat its owner, which premiered in New York in 1982, is a B-movie with Jack Nicholson from 1960. The musical film adaptation by Frank Oz from 1986 achieved great success with its hits and rousing music Cult status worldwide.
