Upcycling workshop with haute couture techniques from SunSun

Upcycling clothes with the tricks of design professionals. In the workshop with fashion designer SunSun, you will learn the art of wardrobe upcycling using basic repair and alteration techniques from the couture scene.

Improve your upcycling skills with professional repair techniques and transform old items into new, high-quality pieces that you can display with joy and confidence. Meet like-minded people who want to share experiences and solutions to specific challenges. Learn how to shorten pants, skirts, jackets and hems using sophisticated design lines and darts. Discover ways to breathe new life into old garments through sewing or craft techniques. Learn how to strengthen and improve jeans and learn about the difficulty of repairing unworn clothing.

This masterclass offers participants a lot of practical experience. Repair and alter a garment of your choice while exploring sustainable fashion practices. Immerse yourself in garment repair and mending techniques, including sizing, hemming, and adding darts and design lines - all while maintaining the original style.

The workshop is open to anyone interested. Previous knowledge is not required, but helpful.

Course fees: 120 CHF including material costs. You are welcome to bring your own fabric scraps with which you can upcycle the haute couture garment you brought with you.

Members of the Textilmuseum Association receive a 10% discount on the participation fee upon presentation of a valid ID.
