1 artist – 3 very different pictures
The focus of the new temporary exhibition in the tiled stove room of the Museum Caspar Wolf is a new acquisition and two new permanent loans of paintings by Caspar Wolf. They show three very different facets of the exceptional Murian artist: the conclusion of his early work under the influence of the Baroque and Rococo in the context of the art scene in Paris around 1769, his pioneering work in Alpine painting and finally his importance in terms of image production for the needs of the late 18th century emerging tourism. The three paintings are presented and illuminate their contexts with other originals and documents.
