Jack Mooney has settled in very well on the tranquil Caribbean island of Saint Marie. The upcoming mayoral election has produced no result, but an unsolved murder. During the vote, Victor Pearce, the favorite for the office, is stabbed in the voting booth. There were five people at the crime scene at the time of the crime, all of whom are now suspects.
